The Blade Project consist of tree components:

  • Making the Smart Choice
  • Lil Man
  • Lifestyle & Knife Crime

Each component deals with the topic of knife crime from a different point of view.  The materials range from:

  • DVD’S Scenarios
  • Audio clips
  • New articles
  • Video clip
  • Lesson Plans

Why is The Blade Project unique :

  1. It deals with the complex issue of knife crime from the point of view of every day young people. This means that the topics covered in The Blade Project are relevant and foundational.
  2. The blade Project includes lesson plans, which will facilitate lively debates and constructive engagement.
  3. The Blade Project is supported with materials from a wide verity of pertinent sources, ranging from books; projects; and articles.
  4. One of the best aspects of the Blade Project is that all parts of the project was conceived developed by young people from The From Boyhood to Manhood Foundation programme, and students on work placements from local schools in Southwark.

 

The DVD’S and lesson plans

are only available to Southwark organization FREE. Organisation OUT SIDE SOUTHWARK MUST PAY £20 for the Blade Project Resource.
Aims of The Project
  • Develop an anti-knife resource in order to support young people to take responsibility for making the Smart choice, Not the Fast choice.
  • To distribute anti-knife resource free to schools and community organisations in Southwark.
  • Train young people in the skills of Peer Leader in order to mediate with their peers.
  • Engage at-risk young people in positive activities, and support them in developing positive relationships with adults.
  • Training young people in the following multi-Media skills:
    1. Using a digital video camera
    2. Editing
    3. Script writing
    4. Web site designing
    5. Presentation skills
